(1) College of Management Building / Xinmin Campus
The functions of this building were developed in response to the needs of modern society, and its architectural language reflects a contemporary minimalist aesthetic infused with subtle, Zen-inspired qualities. The coconut-lined pedestrian path on campus forms a southern urban axis pointing directly toward Chiayi Railway Station. To the north, the same walkway runs parallel to Minsheng South Road, connecting the campus to the Cultural Center and forming a cultural axis.
The U-shaped layout of the College of Management creates an inward-facing courtyard plaza that extends toward a triangular open space—the central plaza of the Xinmin Campus—and further integrates with the athletic field’s open areas. Therefore, the public art for this site aims to echo the building’s clean, modern design and the Zen-like atmosphere created by the interplay of indoor and outdoor spaces. It should also extend the cultural attributes of the campus’s urban axis, becoming a natural landscape element within an open public setting. Ultimately, the core theme of the public art is to convey the essential spirit of modern management.
(2) General Education Building / Lantan Campus
The Lantan Campus is known for its serene environment. The main road on the south side, Jiahe Road, first passes by the university’s car and scooter parking area, making it a busy route for students and faculty. Further along, it runs past the Information Engineering Building, which houses the International Conference Hall—one of the university’s primary venues for major events and academic conferences. As a result, Jiahe Road is also the main entrance route for visiting guests. Additionally, the road serves as the primary access point for local residents heading to the hiking trails behind the campus, giving it a high degree of public use.
For this project, the public art installation sites were chosen on both sides of Jiahe Road—on the lawns in front of the Information Engineering Building and the Engineering Building.

- Title: Mirror · Observe · Reflect
Description:
Management functions like a mirror: the way you treat others and the effort you invest are reflected back at you. When employees receive good management, they in turn provide good service to customers. When customers feel well cared for, they respond with continued, positive patronage. Like two parallel mirrors creating endless reflections, these interactions form an interlinked and self-sustaining cycle. Such a virtuous loop is the essence and ultimate goal of management. For this reason, the artwork is titled Mirror · Observe · Reflect.

- Title: Glowing Mambo
Description:
Beneath the white-and-green mushroom caps lies the dappled shade that drifts across the grass. Light butterflies dance in a flowing “mambo” rhythm among mushrooms and orchids. Sunlit by day and softly glowing at night, this space becomes a place for rest and conversation—for cultivation, for exploration, for innovation. It gathers talent from all around, creating a vibrant ground for exchange. In this corner of the urban jungle, symbols of nature are gently woven into the environment. The mambo moves within the glow, and the beauty we see becomes part of everyday life.
