The “Made in Taiwan—Rookies Recommendation Zone” from the Art Taipei 2011 is a zone planned since 2008 by the Council for Cultural Affairs. Through the process of open call (from 114 artists), Chien-Chung Ding, Shu-Jung Chao, Chi-Ming Tu, Shuai-Cheng Pu, Shih-Pin Hsi, Simon Chang, Ya-Ting Kao, and Jia-Jen Lin these 8 young emerging artists were recommended and stationed to join the exhibition. Every artist owned their independent exhibition space that allowed enough exhibit space and relative media promotion, hoping to build collaborations between local and abroad galleries, art managers, and local young artists, and create a bridge between artists and the art market that elevates the visibility of Taiwanese young artists in the global art world.
