To keep pace with global trends in higher education and to advance national initiatives for leading universities, National Taiwan University has been proactively striving toward the goal of becoming a world-class institution. In addition to actively collaborating with world-renowned universities to achieve its internationalization goals, the University has also begun planning long-term campus transformations with a forward-looking vision for the next twenty years.

Guided by a people-centered philosophy, NTU continues to enhance the overall quality of its campus environment. In terms of transportation planning, the University aims to create a safer and more pedestrian-friendly campus. To reduce the number of surface-level parking spaces and minimize vehicles cutting through the campus, NTU has planned an underground parking facility beneath the existing basketball and tennis courts—previously paved with impermeable surfacing—located on the west side of the main campus near Xinsheng South Road.
