Torik Tribe

The word “Torik" means “weaving" in A-mi Language. The tribe people have been weaving various household utensils with Alpinia leaves since ancient time. In the recent years, items that ingeniously combine hand-making and cultural creation notions such as bags and cell phone pouches have injected new vitality into Alpinia weaving art and the tribe. Due to its high malleability, Alpinia is suitable for training and application of design students. The studio has guided a student to win the Silver Award of “2016 Memories of Mountain & Sea – Cultural and Creative Camp for Home-coming Youth"
